HIV STOPS WITH ME Launches A New Campaign Phase, We're Still Here
At the beginning of February, Better World Advertising launched a new phase of HIV STOPS WITH ME. The latest phase, called “We’re Still Here,” delivers an uplifting and empowering message – that people who have HIV are in the vanguard of both prevention and treatment efforts.
Taking place in New York and Virginia, the campaign centers on actual HIV positive individuals, asserting that “We’re Still Here, Still Taking Care of Ourselves, Still Protecting You.” This message celebrates the contributions that the vast majority of HIV positive individuals make in protecting themselves, their partners and their communities.
The campaign’s spokesmodels represent a diverse group of HIV positive men and women. Each one committed to stopping the spread of HIV while also promoting the value of self-care and healthy living. The spokesmodels interact with visitors to the campaign website, make public appearances and share their stories through the media.
The campaign hub is the website www.HIVStopsWithMe.org, where people can engage with the spokesmodels, read about issues related to HIV/AIDS, and learn about local services and events. Campaign ads will appear in New York City subway stations, on buses, in print publications and in online banner ads throughout New York City and Buffalo starting February 1st.
Since its inception in 2000, the campaign has been nominated for Best Advertising Campaign by GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), and received a Webby Award for Best Health Website. HIV STOPS WITH ME has been evaluated over 13 times, making the campaign one of the most well evaluated HIV prevention campaigns developed.
