Vaping Is Not Harm-Free: Don't Take The Vape

2020-09-17

"Whether you are vaping THC, nicotine, or flavorings, those vapes produce other harmful chemicals that are inhaled into your body."  We announce the launch of the "Don't Take The Vape" awareness campaign in conjunction with the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department (SCCBHSD) and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department (SCCPHD). The goal of the campaign is to educate youth ages 12-17 about the adverse health risks associated with vaping including the production of formaldehyde, being more susceptible to illnesses including COVID-19, and anxiety. The campaign seeks to not only provide knowledge, but empower youth to take agency over their own health and encourages them to become part of a movement to uplift and inspire their peers and community through advocacy. The campaign will run for six weeks on Instagram, Snapchat, and through online banner ads through videos. To learn more about the campaign and how to get involved, find resources to quit smoking, or to learn more about why vaping is not harm free visit DontTakeTheVape.org.
