BWA Launches Obesity Prevention Campaign in Sonoma County

BWA, in partnership with the Sonoma County Department of Health Services, recently launched a media campaign to prevent obesity by reducing the consumption of sugary drinks in Sonoma County. The ads draw attention to the excessive amount of sugar that popular drinks like soda, sports drinks and energy drinks contain, and the negative impacts on health that can result from over consumption.

All of the ads point to a new website, available in both English (www.ChooseHealthyDrinks.org) and Spanish (www.EligeBebidasSaludables.org), where visitors can learn more about what sugary drinks are and the negative impacts that they can have on health, read tips for choosing healthier beverages and cutting back on unhealthy ones, learn how to read nutrition labels, use an interactive calculator to see how much sugar is in their favorite drinks, find local resources for more information and more.

The ads are running in English and Spanish on billboards and convenience stores throughout the county, as well as on YouTube and Facebook through April 2014.
