BWA Launches "End the Day" Campaign for International Overdose Awareness Day

2015-08-31

International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is a global event held on August 31st each year and aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.

This year, BWA along with our partners at INPUD created the "End The Day" social media campaign to encourage policies that provide access and information to the overdose reversing drug, naloxone—a nontoxic and non-intoxicating substance that can mean the difference between life and death in overdoses that include opioids. Together we look forward to a better world where we no longer need to observe this day.
